Whether you'd like black mold testing before buying a house or if you need mold detection done as part of an overall building inspection, we can perform everything from the initial test, to remediation recommendations and the final inspection after the mitigation occurs.
SURFACE SAMPLE TESTING
Surface sample testing can be performed to determine the amount of mold growth and the spore concentration throughout your home. The samples are collected by swabbing, tape lifting and other methods. The samples are then sent off to the laboratory where they are tested. The results of the test are usually available within 24-48hrs.
AIR TESTING
We can take air samples from the areas of concern that have been affected in order to test for the mold spore concentration in the air. Indoor air quality testing is performed to determined the presence and levels of mold in the air throughout your home. This can be especially helpful when there is no visual mold. Air testing is often done prior to and upon completion of the remediation work.
WHEN SHOULD I HAVE A MOLD TEST
We will first visually inspect your home for signs of mold growth throughout different areas of your home that are of concern. We will determine if the indoor air quality or surface sample testing is necessary or recommended.

UNDERSTANDING HOW NYS BILL S3667D AFFECTS YOU
Requires the licensure of mold inspection, assessment and remediation specialists and
sets minimum work standards for mold inspection, assessment and remediation specialists.
As of January 1, 2016, New York State has put into effect Bill S3667D. What does this new law mean to you?
1) This law requires the licensing of mold inspection, mold remediation companies and workers.
2) It sets minimum work standards for the conduct of mold assessments and remediation by licensed persons.
3) No licensee shall perform both mold assessment and mold remediation on the same property. The mold“assessor” cannot work for the mold remediation company and must be independent of the mold remediationcompany. The mold assessor’s license was created by New York State in an effort to have an independent analysis of the suspected mold.
4) It is the responsibility of the mold assessor to “clear” the project and determine if the mold has been properly remediated.
